Loop School

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Earth School Competition in Kofuntine, Senegal,
Design Team: Manish Mahendran, Jayanth S, Dinesh KR
Learning Loop: The Classroom is fledged on one side corridor and the other side with an internal courtyard. The corridor is treated as a relearning space where the sliding panels of the classrooms opens up to. The other side of corridor has walls with boards where kids can try to imitate teaching with their friends. Thus making the entire corridor way not only a passage but also a learning loop. Sharing Loop: The open courtyard in the center provides space for daily assembly and can host a variety of functions. The small closed courtyards that are formed between the classes can become space for daily chats, sharing, storytelling, eating etc… Growing Loop: Around the class and the green corridor where students are provided with farming beds where they can grow and maintain a plant for themselves. A child can learn subjects by daily taking care of vegetables.
